The merchant is looking for an option to add tags per variant, however, this is not native to Shopify. Thus, we will need to rely on an app called Variant Tagger. We are also using Product Filter and Search app. We'd reached out to both application support team as we need to confirm if there would be problem or confusion in using both apps. As per the Product Filter app team, "We create the filter options of the store based on the information provided by Shopify, thus we can't create filter options based on third-party apps. The only way that this might work is if the variant tagger app also updates the product in Shopify in some way, maybe a special tag for the product or by adding custom metafields to it."
